Literary quote of the week - Anne Rice
“To write something, you have to risk making a fool of yourself.” – Anne Rice

BBBB

Not only are we next to The Nest, one of the most delicious restaurants in town, our other neighbors are Aunt Violet’s Bed and Breakfast and Guest-House Community and Living Touch Spa. When you have friends and family in town and need extra beds, send them to Aunt Violet’s. You can’t miss the 1910 “painted lady” Victorian landmark next to our humble cottage. There are two Eastern Tennessee mountain cabins behind the Morning Glory Inn. The web site is www.Auntvioletsbedandbreakfast.com. B, B, B&B. That’s Bed, Breakfast, Beauty and Books or Eat, Sleep, Read and Massage. There is no another acre like this in Texas (or anywhere?)

 Special Orders

We are doing special orders again! And just in time for the holidays. Would you like a copy of the latest new release or a book you have always intended to read (or loaned out, only to be swallowed by someone else’s bookshelf)? Or a beautiful photography or art book for that perfect Christmas Gift? Save gas and time and support your local independent bookstore instead of driving to Kerrville. Generally, we are able to order new books as apposed to used. We will require payment in advance by cash or check only. We are unable to accept credit card payment for special orders at this tie and special orders are not eligible for in store sales. Please allow a week to ten days for delivery. For customers picking up books at the store shipping is free.

 Tuesday and Wednesday

For now we will close at 6:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. We will let you know when it changes back to 9:00.

 New Dimension

We always wanted an outdoor reading area at the Main Street location and now we have it. The courtyard behind the shop is cozy and private. We have been eating our lunch there while reading the paper and invite you to do the same. Bring a lunch, a mid-day snack or just feast on the fresh air. Read a book off the shelf or bring your laptop and take advantage of the free wifi. It is especially nice with the Sunday paper and a cup of our hot gourmet coffee. Shoot, bring a bottle of wine and a friend or three for some down time (or up time). You decide, we would love to see you.

 Frequent Flier Bubble Wrap

Bring us your clean used bubble wrap and peanuts and we will put it to good use. Now more than ever it is important and responsible to get as many miles out of this stuff instead of sending it to the landfill. We use lots of packing material for shipping books. We also reuse packing material from packages we receive. Considering how many miles books can travel over and over again, your bubble wrap could get frequent flier points.
